Experience is the Best Teacher

If experience really is the best teacher, then it is up to us to make sure we are having enough experiences.  Get started, and make sure you are taking action towards your goals.  Don’t worry about failure or making mistakes.  You should actually be welcoming failures and mistakes.  Let’s go ahead and get all of those out of the way right now so we can get to the success.  Learning from mistakes is key to your success.  The only way to do that is to get out there and start making some mistakes.

Don’t Get Discouraged

There isn’t any reason to be discouraged about what we perceive to be a mistake.  If have committed to a goal, and you are taking effective action persistently; it’s only a matter of time before you reach your goal.  Learning from mistakes can be summed up as learning experiences.  You can’t even get some jobs without experience.  They want to know that you have had an opportunity to make some mistakes.  Learning from mistakes is just a part of the process of success.  The only way to become an expert in any field is to know all of the errors that you can potentially make.  When you encounter an error welcome the experience as more of an “Aha” moment.  No need to be discouraged; you are well on your way.

Discovery Mode

Another reason to welcome errors is because through these errors we can develop our skills or discover new ways of doing things.  Imagine digging for diamonds, and discovering gold.  You wouldn’t discard the gold simply because you didn’t find the diamonds you expected.  Stay in discovery mode and welcome the experiences.  Accept them as the gold that you discovered on your way to finding diamonds.  

Challenge

Take a look at the last 6 months, or the last year of your life.  What have you experienced that you may have considered a mistake, a failure, or just a negative situation?  Examine the situation further and find a way that this scenario can be used as a learning experience.  Find ways that you could take the situation and grow from it.  You have to grow your way to success.  Let’s take every situation and make sure we can grow from them.
